Russian submarine kid: How did this young sailor become a drone?
In a remote Siberian village, a young man is taking part in the most dangerous and unusual mission of his life: flying a Russian sub.
The young sailor is not a pilot but a drone operator.
“It’s an interesting story,” says the Russian sub kid, Pavel.
He was not in training and his father didn’t have enough money for his training.
But he’s very motivated.
A couple of years ago, a Russian military vessel was in the harbour of Kaliningrad and Pavel was assigned to monitor the ship.
When the Russian military discovered Pavel, he was taken to a secret base in a remote region of the Arctic.
They found him in a military hospital.
“They brought me to the training base where we had to teach me how to fly a drone.
The instructor was a Russian officer, a pilot, and we got together and we started flying around the base.
I had no experience in flying a drone, but I had the basics.
I started learning and I became a pilot,” Pavel says.
On his second trip to Kaliningra, Pavel is in charge of a Russian drone in a helicopter.
The helicopter is not operational, but it can fly around and shoot down any Russian military aircraft that are passing by.
What happens when the helicopter is shot down?
“We have no other option but to go to the base and find out how to make a submarine drone,” Pavel explains.
The drone has two arms, each with its own sensors and computers.
And now that it has learned to fly underwater, Pavel says, it can take out any Russian sub, Russian aircraft, or any other aircraft.
In the first part of the story, we talk about the Russian submarine, the drone and Pavel’s adventures.
But the second part of our story will look at how Pavel got his submarine drone license and how he has been training it.
So far, Pavel has been involved in a number of underwater adventures and he has become very good at it.
He says he is the most experienced underwater drone operator in Russia.
For example, he used to operate submarines in the Arctic but after getting his submarine license in 2010, he changed his focus to drones.
How does Pavel get a drone license in Russia?
In 2012, Pavel applied for a license for a Russian subsubmarine drone.
He has since then spent over 50,000 roubles on the submarine.
After paying the fees and having his license, Pavel said that he had to spend three years in training.
According to Pavel, the Russian government wants a sub that can operate on a variety of underwater conditions.
From a drone owner’s point of view, the submarine drone is a good solution.
Why is the submarine in Kaliningrads waters?
Kaliningrad is a Russian archipelago in the Kara Sea, which is very deep.
It lies to the south of the Black Sea and the Black sea is the sea of the North Caucasus.
To travel in the Black seas, you have to use a submarine.
The sub has to be able to navigate underwater with a submersible or it would be very difficult to use.
There are also no other submarines in Russia and therefore, a submarine that can fly on water at sea requires a sub.
However, the Kaliningratan is not able to go underwater.
As a result, the sub is the only way to reach a submarine in the Russian Black Sea.
Where does the sub go underwater?
At Kaliningrats remote base, the underwater environment is extremely dangerous.
Once a sub is grounded, it cannot fly anymore.
Therefore, the only option is to sink the sub.
There are no ships in the vicinity, so there are no boats to send a sub into.
One day, the commander of a submarine base asked the drone operator to bring a sub back to the submarine base, which would be a safer option.
With the permission of the commander, the operator took a submarine back to his base.
Then, the military commander contacted Pavel to make sure that the submarine could continue to fly.
Who will take the sub to the Russian Arctic?
A submarine is not the only vessel that can be used to transport a submarine to the Arctic region.
There is also the submarine yacht.
A sub yacht is a submarine with a crew of four and can go up to 200 meters.
If a submarine is equipped with an air engine, the boat can go faster and can reach up to 100 meters in depth.
This submarine can carry a crew up to 60 people and can fly at a speed of 200 knots.
Will the Russian Navy use the submarine as a training vessel?
The Russian Navy is not ready
