The 7,800-tonne Arleigh Burke-class submarine, which has been named the Arleigh-Burke, was launched last month.
The Arleigh, also known as the destroyer, is capable of carrying nuclear weapons and is a capable threat to other US warships.
The Arllyn Burke is the smallest US warships and is designed for operations in shallow water and shallow air.
It is also the only submarine to be built in Australia.
But it will be a lot smaller than the previous largest, the USS Forrestal, which is also a guided missile destroyer.
In 2016, the US Navy unveiled a concept for a sub that would be able to carry up to eight nuclear weapons.
At least eight of the nuclear warheads could be deployed from the submarine, according to a report by the Navy Times.
The Navy also revealed the Navy had completed a $1.4 billion program to replace the Forrestal and the Arllynn Burke with a new class of submarines called the Arlen Burke-Class.
The $2.7 billion project is designed to replace two older submersibles, the Forrestals and Arllin, with the new submarine, The Navy Times reported.
Despite the smaller size, the new sub is capable to carry a nuclear warhead and is equipped with new systems including stealth capabilities and a crew of eight.
It has also been named a submarine of the year by the magazine.
This year, the Navy launched a new submarine called the Admiral Gorshkov, which was named after Russian admiral Gorshko.
However, it was not the first time the Navy has built an amphibious warship to replace an older warship, and the Admiral is not expected to replace either of the older subs.
As The Huffington reports, the Arlynn Burke-Submerged, which entered service in the 2020s, is the largest amphibious battleship in the world and was initially designed to serve in the Mediterranean Sea.
